About the WiggleLess Company
WiggleLess was founded by Lisa Luckenbach in 2011. Lisa had two dachshunds, Henry and June, diagnosed with intervertebral disc disease (IVDD).
June was the first one diagnosed with IVDD at just two years old. Lisa wanted to design a brace that could help alleviate June’s pain while living with IVDD so young. Lisa remembered that she had to wear a back brace when dealing with an injury in her own personal life, but since there wasn’t anything available on the market to help June, she decided that she would create her own.
A few years later, Henry was diagnosed with IVDD at four years old. Henry was stockier and had a shorter back than June, so she needed to redesign the brace so that it would fit him properly. The new brace design helped Henry live a life without having to continually revisit the veterinarian, and that’s what Lisa wants for every dog.
WiggleLess has become synonymous with high quality dog supports and braces.
- Provides excellent stabilization. Stabilizing your dog’s spine is imperative for back injuries. When the back is stabilized, it significantly reduces the risk of pinching nerves and twisting that can cause additional pain. The WiggleLess Back Brace does an excellent job stabilizing the spine for much needed pain relief.
- “Cool Mesh” design keeps our dog cool. Dogs can get hot quickly, especially when wearing an additional layer. We love the “Cool Mesh” design of the brace because it makes sure to keep our dog cool while it’s being worn.
- Allows our dog to move. The stabilization of the brace isn’t so stiff that our dog can’t move. It has the perfect balance of stabilization and flexibility to give our dog stability while also allowing him to move naturally.
- Can be used for more than just IVDD. Even if your dog isn’t suffering from IVDD, the WiggleLess Back Brace can be used to treat those injuries or ailments, making it an extremely versatile back brace for you to have for stress relief and extra support.
Like rival back braces – including the L’il Back Bracer – your WiggleLess Back Brace can be used to treat many back injuries, ailments, or conditions. It can also be used as post-operative support during the rehabilitation and recovery process.
Let’s take a closer look at what conditions you can use the WiggleLess Back Brace for.
As we mentioned, the WiggleLess Back Brace was designed by Lisa Luckenbach because her dogs were diagnosed with IVDD. IVDD is an intervertebral disc disease that occurs when the discs of the spine break down. It is a degenerative disease that has no cure but can be maintained by medication, rest, and a back brace.
Degenerative myelopathy is another disease that affects the spinal cord and other body parts. Degenerative myelopathy is when the nerves in the spinal cord become unable to transmit impulses. Degenerative myelopathy may not be painful initially, but over time, it can cause the spine and other parts of the body to experience pain.
When your dog suffers from a spinal injury, the spine becomes inflamed. Inflammation causes swelling, pinching the nerves in your dog’s back. These pinched nerves cause pain and cause your dog to wiggle, resulting in more pain. That’s how the WiggleLess got its name. It will keep your dog from wiggling, significantly reducing the pain that your dog feels from a back injury.
The WiggleLess Back Brace can be used as post-operative support after your dog has had back surgery. It will help keep your dog’s back stabilized and provide firm support during the recovery process.
The WiggleLess Back Brace has built-in boning that straightens your dog’s spine. This keeps your dog from making sudden movements that can hurt his spine even more. It comes in sizes from 9” to 21”, so you’ll need to measure your dog’s back and chest circumference to know which size to choose.
Here is a simple size guide from WiggleLess to help you determine the right size.
Once you have chosen the right size for your dog, you will need to put the WiggleLess dog back brace on your dog. It has simple Velcro straps that will go around his back and chest that keep it securely in place. Unlike other back braces where you have to slide your dog’s front and back legs through the brace, the brace wraps around your dog’s body, making it easy to take on and off.
The WiggleLess Back Brace currently has a patent pending, and it has already been proven to help dogs live a longer, pain-free life while keeping their back from suffering from additional injuries. We like the two pieces that work together to provide stability. This is an upgrade from Lisa’s original one-piece design in 2009.
We trust the WiggleLess Back Brace because we have seen how well it works for dogs suffering from back pain. We also like that it includes the following features:
- D-ring for leash attachment
- Breathable material keeps your dog cool
- Easy to take on and off
- Can be used while taking your dog for a walk or on a potty break
- Keeps your dog’s back stable so that it doesn’t twist or bend
Even though the WiggleLess Back Brace does not have a current patent, they are in the process of getting its patent approved. Until then, the WiggleLess Back Brace has helped countless dogs live a pain-free life, which is why we trust it for our dogs. We have seen just how much the WiggleLess Back Brace has made a difference in our dog’s life.
Nothing compares to giving your dog a full, happy, and pain-free life. Just because your dog has a spinal injury or diagnosis doesn’t mean that his life is over. Using a back brace, your dog can live a full, pain-free life, which is the most important thing you can do for your dog.
Our dogs can get hot quickly. The breathable material that the brace is made of is durable and cool. It is strong enough that it won’t rip or tear while also having a mesh design that makes it cool on your dog.
This dog back brace can be worn during the day and taken off at night when he is resting in his crate. We recommend putting it on your dog for short increments at a time to get your dog used to it. Once your dog has become used to it, you can increase the time he wears it. He should be able to wear it for up to 12 hours a day in no time.
